We're singing our way into Summer, here at More Harmony HQ!

After several rehearsals with only six members in attendance, towards the end of June we decided to start singing outside, allowing more of our singers to come along each week.  Despite restrictions being almost completely dropped on July 19th, More Harmony then made a decision to continue protecting our members and their loved ones, by holding outdoor rehearsals for the whole of the summer, continuing with temperature checks on arrival and encouraging our singers to take regular lateral flow tests.  We're also still reporting our Covid-safe rehearsals using the Well Rehearsed app and are happy to announce that we've had zero cases of infection since we began singing together in person, again.

We are fortunate to have a wonderful rehearsal venue in Wadebridge Ambulance Hall, but the lack of large outdoor space has meant that for the last few weeks, our chorus has been singing in the alley behind the hall, leading our Assistant Director to jokingly rename us "The Alley Cats!"  However, throughout the month of August, More Harmony will be moving into a temporary new home - a marquee in the garden of one of our members. This will allow us to stay dry, if the Great British weather takes a turn for the worse, and will also prevent some of the issues we've found with singing in the alley, such as having to jump out of the way of passing cars!  We are aiming to be back, rehearsing in the Ambulance Hall from September however, so if you'd like to join in, please do get in touch and we'll be happy to give you all the details.

We have all the more reason to be keen to practise together, as we recently had our first invitation to perform in a year and a half!  We'll be singing on the bandstand in Camelford - date and time TBC - and we are absolutely delighted at the thought of donning our purple jackets and glittery shoes again!  Performing is the absolute highlight of singing in a group and we can't wait to get back to it.

It's not all work and no play, however - we made good use of the sunny weather with a picnic in early June, giving us chance for a good catch up, as well as an opportunity to sample some delicious chocolate eclairs, baked by our multi-talented MD!  After the strange 18 months we've all been through, we figured we deserved a treat...

That's all for now, folks.  Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates on when and where you can catch us singing in the coming weeks, as well as news about how to join our friendly chorus!
