It's all systems GO at More Harmony HQ right now, as we prepare for our Big Charity Quiz Night at Wadebridge Social Club!

This coming Saturday (1st July), we'll be hosting this special event in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care, hoping to raise lots of money for an amazing cause, via a quiz and a prize raffle.  There are some amazing prizes on offer, from £50 in cash to the winning quiz team, to cinema vouchers, cupcakes and all kinds of other goodies!  This is something you don't want to miss out on, as not only will we be doling out prizes to lucky raffle winners and crowning the victorious quizzers, but we'll be giving a special performance, too.  All of the details can be found on our Eventbrite page, where you can pre-book your quiz team's tickets.  If you'd rather simply turn up on the night, that's fine too - we'll be welcoming people from 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start.  Entry to the quiz is £2 per person for a team of up to six.  Please bring cash on the night as we cannot accept card payments for quiz or raffle entry!

Of course, despite all of this important action happening behind the scenes, we've found time to do some actual singing, as well!

On 16th June, we were thrilled to take part in a Gala Concert at Wadebridge Town Hall, featuring some of the amazing acts who performed at this year's Festival of Music & Speech.  The evening was a fabulous mix of entertainment and we were delighted to be involved.  Wadebridge Festival of Music & Speech is something we have loved competing in and look forward to doing so again next year!

Speaking of future plans, the chorus is currently in the middle of one of its biggest undertakings in recent years.  Having anonymously polled our members on everything from chorus uniform to competing locally and nationally, we are now in the process of putting together something of a "five-year plan" for More Harmony, which will be used to ensure that we are taking our singers in the direction they want to be travelling!  Another big thank you is required for our members for their honesty and enthusiasm, and special thanks to MD Lesley for the twelve hours she spent writing up the responses into a thorough report which will form the basis of our future plans.  We all owe her a drink on Saturday - although maybe after she's finished hosting the quiz!

One crucial part of that future plan will be to grow our membership, so if you are a woman aged 16+ looking for a new challenge, why not give a cappella singing a try?!  We rehearse at Wadebridge Ambulance Hall every Thursday night from 7:15pm and don't require previous experience, so if you are keen to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in to a hugely rewarding hobby, then More Harmony are ready and waiting to welcome you!
