What a fantastically busy month we've had here at More Harmony!  We started June off in splendid style, getting into our infamous glittery trainers for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.  It was an absolute honour to have been asked to sing the song composed especially to mark this historic occasion - A Life Lived With Grace - as the beacon was lit on the appropriately-named Jubilee Fields in Wadebridge.  Beacons were lit all over the UK at the same time, with choirs and music groups singing the same song as the flames flickered into life.  We felt like our little chorus was taking its own place in history and it was a truly special moment for us.

We were also able to perform a set of songs as people enjoyed the festivities, which gave us a chance to really show off what we can do!  The event was a big success and we were thrilled to have been part of it.

As the Summer continues, we have lots more performances ahead of us!  We'll be singing at St. Endellion Church on Wednesday 6th July, along with other musicians and groups who had been hoping to participate in this year's Wadebridge Festival of Music & Speech, the "music" part of which was sadly cancelled due to Covid.

Ahead of that, we'll be busking in Bodmin this Saturday (2nd July), raising money for Samaritans, as well as drumming up publicity for our upcoming One Day Wonder singing workshop!  We'll be starting at Mount Folly, where we'll be singing from 11am, before making our way up to Mad Hatters cafe.  We finish off our busking tour at Asda, where you'll find us singing outside the store from 2-3pm.  If you see us, please do come and say hello!  And of course, if you not only see us but think "I fancy having a go at that," our One Day Wonder workshop could be just what you're looking for!

We're really excited about this workshop and we can't wait to teach the participants a full song in four part harmony in just one day!  The event is taking place at The Old Library in Bodmin, on Saturday 9th July from 10:30am-4pm.  There'll be a break for lunch and all refreshments will be provided.  Any woman aged 16+ is welcome to come along for the day, whether you're an experienced diva or have never sung before!  We'll show you how to find the right part for your voice, giving you some tips on singing posture and breathing, as well as learning a full song in a day.  What song, I hear you ask?  Drum roll please... Jessie J's smash hit, Price Tag!  Tickets for the workshop are just £5 each and can be ordered via Eventbrite.  We can guarantee a warm and friendly welcome... oh and cake!  If you see us in Bodmin this Saturday, we'll be handing out flyers with lots of info on, including a QR code you can scan which will take you to a special page on our website, with lots of details and a handy video, giving you an intro to the four voice parts used barbershop singing, as well as a sneak peek at the song we'll be learning.  We hope to see lots of you there!

Of course, if you can't make the workshop, you are always more than welcome to join us at a regular rehearsal - we're at Wadebridge Ambulance Hall every Thursday evening from 7:15pm and we always love meeting new singers!

That's about it from us this month.  We'll be popping up in various places throughout the Summer, so keep your eyes and ears peeled and we'll talk to you all again very soon.
